Default Planned setup for rebuild B18c1

I'm tired of driving around burning oil so I am going to get the engine rebuilt. Here is my planned setup any comments on what to improve would be appreciated. I plan on buying all the parts and taking it into a shop.

81.5 mm jdm itr pistons(p73) on stock gsr rods
arb rod bolts
aebs head studs
rocket m22s/ti retainers/g1 springs
blox IM (aebs?)
maxbore my gsr tb or purchase itr tb
comptech icebox/stock itr intake arm
act hdss/fidanza fw
new cat
new b-pipe(t1r?)
p28/ob2->1 harness/hondata

edit:
hondata im gasket
supertech nitrided valves (dished or flat face?)
Full gasket kit
acl bearings?

stuff I have:
buddy club cam gears
jdm itr valve cover (bling bling)

Anything I am missing? I hope to start ordering while the other car is in the shop and once that comes out send my car in.

I think your set up is right.....Just make sure you get all new gaskets for every inch of the motor....

Are you going to be using stock sleeves? 81.5mm is a 0.020 overbore, which is the maximum Honda recommends on stock sleeves, for fixing damage to existing sleeves.

like what CNSK says buy all new gaskets for your block, new bearings, rod bolts i say stick with stock, and for the head studs go APR headstuds. Other than that its a good setup.

Ya. I was going to stay stock sleeves w/no head work since that would be another 2k or so. You think it will be bad to push the limit? Usually shops will know what gaskets/seals to replace? Or should I just call up the dealership and tell them I need all the seals/gaskets for a rebuild.

It's fine, I was boosting 18psi on my stock sleeves bored to the same as yours. I was just curious. Anyway, yes the shop will know what to replace. I would hope they would know.

They will probably use a Honda gasket kit. You should get one yourself and give it to them. I forgot how much it was. It was a little pricey, but it included everything you'll need in terms of gaskets for a rebuild. There are two kits available. One is the basic one with just valve cover gaskets, maybe a head gasket, and some grommets. Then there's the big one with the gaskets you'll need for a full rebuild. Make sure you get that one.

Ya someone told me it might be the vavle seals, don't remember exactly what my compression numbers were, just that cylinder 2 was low. I figured if I was going to get it opened up to fix I might as well upgrade some parts.

My motto was if your going to do it do it right, but since I realized headwork would be another ~1.5k I figured I'll just get the car running decently and buy my buddies sti when he gets a new car.

I'm planning on picking up a complete itr head with manifold to mate to my gsr bottom end replacing all gaskets/rings/seals in the process.

I already picked up the 97 itr ecu.

This should be a nice stockish setup with good perfomance at minimal cost, including the reselling of my gsr head which is in good condition.

That's if i decide to keep my teg longer.

The buring oil is annoying more than a serious issue.

Anyone know if it would be cheaper to rebuild it with stock parts and go jrsc? I need to stay out of the F/I forum, I am getting second thoughts.

uhoh....you don't want to open up that can of worms

there was a great thread (pages and pages long) on the integra forum a year or two ago regarding the jrsc, pros and cons. It had excellent information; I suggest looking it up.
A used jrsc setup could be had for $1500. Yet, most of the people I speak to, if they had to do it over again would go turbo instead of jrsc, due to it it being more efficient....also the heat buildup with that a water cooler with the jrsc is excessive.

The coolers are expensive....

at least this is what I've read here and in FI
there's like a 20 page thread on the jrsc over in FI
