Planning on running nitrous on a B16a SiRII motor.
I have a B16 a with about 40,000 miles on it. I am thinking I am going to do a Direct Port Setup. I would get an aftermarket intake manifold no matter which route I decide to choose. I also plan on running a 50 shot. I have already retarded my timing by 3 degrees. I just wanted to see what kind of setups other people have. Also if anybody has any suggestions feel free to let me know. Thanks
to me nitrous is bad...IMO but others may think diff...my brother had a zex kit with a 100shot..and we only put 77 to the wheels with the nitrous on it...so its not an actuall 100shot..i have heard that NX and NOS are true horsepower:shot...so if it is a 100 shot..its an actuall 100hp...
... 77HP to the wheels sounds about accurate... you have to account for losses between the crank and wheels. im sure the NOS and NX systems will net about the same numbers to the wheels...

jsut dont get nitrous-happy...and use it all the time..and i must say...your piston rings(if im not mistaken) will be worn down faster...thats what happend to my bros supra...and the motor wasnt as fast as it was before we put the nitrous was put on
got a 50 dry shot on my sirII motor. full msd ign. with retard during spray, walbro 255, b+m fpr. no problems , maybe overkill for 50 shot but im gonna boost soon. just gonna spray the intercooler then. if you need any pointers let me know. SPRAY-N-WAX haha I crack me up.
like they said...get a better fuel pump..you dont need anything like a 255lph f/p just get a bigger one than the one that is stock...and like i said before...DONT GET NITROUS HAPPY!! keep it safe and spray when needed
For a 50-shot, 93 octane should be enough. My car ran fine on pump 92 octane with an 80-shot. I guess octane booster would probably help, depending on what type. I don't have much experience with using those.
meh... just go to your local motorcycle shop and get a 5 gallon barrell of vp.. i ususally get the ms101.. its 101 unleaded race fuel.. and it smells good too... ahahahahah jk.. i use that at the track and tune the timing a little more
my brother and i alwayz used NOS octane booster...you could feel and tell the differance...it wasnt a dramatic improvement but it did make the car run way smoother...we had a quarter tank of gas and a full bottle of NOS octane booster...huh...no wonder why we felt the differance..lol

Cooler plugs, retarted 2 degrees, and clean fuel filter will do you fine. Keep an eye on your rings though. Oh, and with a 50 shot, I would just go with a wet set up.
