Default Planning on running nitrous on a B16a SiRII motor.

I have a B16 a with about 40,000 miles on it. I am thinking I am going to do a Direct Port Setup. I would get an aftermarket intake manifold no matter which route I decide to choose. I also plan on running a 50 shot. I have already retarded my timing by 3 degrees. I just wanted to see what kind of setups other people have. Also if anybody has any suggestions feel free to let me know. Thanks

to me nitrous is bad...IMO but others may think diff...my brother had a zex kit with a 100shot..and we only put 77 to the wheels with the nitrous on it...so its not an actuall 100shot..i have heard that NX and NOS are true horsepower:shot...so if it is a 100 shot..its an actuall 100hp...

... 77HP to the wheels sounds about accurate... you have to account for losses between the crank and wheels. im sure the NOS and NX systems will net about the same numbers to the wheels...

Would it be safe to run a 75 shot on my motor?

jsut dont get nitrous-happy...and use it all the time..and i must say...your piston rings(if im not mistaken) will be worn down faster...thats what happend to my bros supra...and the motor wasnt as fast as it was before we put the nitrous was put on

Colder plugs and retarded timing should do you good for a 50-shot. Just make sure to run high octane fuel

I already run 93 octane fuel. Is that good enough?

For a 50-shot, 93 octane should be enough. My car ran fine on pump 92 octane with an 80-shot. I guess octane booster would probably help, depending on what type. I don't have much experience with using those.

my brother and i alwayz used NOS octane booster...you could feel and tell the differance...it wasnt a dramatic improvement but it did make the car run way smoother...we had a quarter tank of gas and a full bottle of NOS octane booster...huh...no wonder why we felt the differance..lol

Cooler plugs, retarted 2 degrees, and clean fuel filter will do you fine. Keep an eye on your rings though. Oh, and with a 50 shot, I would just go with a wet set up.
