Default Considering lowering my 6th gen

Yeah im considering a drop on my 98 4 cylinder and im looking into the eibach sportline springs. Since the new england winter is coming soon my question is would I definitely need to change the shocks to accommodate the new springs? If it is an nesscessity then I guess I throw my 300 into another mod and just cut my stock springs heh. Budget is tight and I only have 300 to spend this month.

feedback please

you can run on stock struts w/ lowering springs however your stock struts are now, what, about 7 years old? I say replace 'em. Do it right, do it once. Tokico blues are pretty cheap and ride nice.

If you only have 300 to spend, just save it. You definitely don't want to ride around on stock shocks, I did it and it wasn't comfy. Some people will tell you the Tokico blues won't hold up to lowering well, so I played it safe and got Tokico Illuminas from JDMWerks13 (or something) on eBay, 369 shipped for the set. That's the best price i've found, and they're 5 way adjustable, which is pretty sweet.

Definitely don't cut your springs, your ride quality will be horrible, you'll be bouncing around, you won't have the same cornering ability as aftermarket stiffer springs, and you might lose control and crash your car....which isnt fun.

I've got some springs for sale that drop 6th gens 1.25", but i'm figuring you want about a 2" drop, you can try Neuspeed Race as well as the Eibachs.

So you guys think I should go with a top brand such as neuspeed or eibach or some other brand like dropzone for 99 dollars and lowers the height to 2.5 maxium? Or I can get these coil overs. http://www.speedstash.com/coilovers.html

Ick. Coilovers shouldnt be less than 250 bucks, and Ground control is the only sleeve type coilover i'd ever get. Otherwise get a true coilover system like omnipower for 689.

Definitely don't go with the ebay brands like dropzone, they are made of inferior materials, without any real R&D. They'll sag, bounce, and at some point, may even fail, i've seen pictures.

Ground Control, Eibach, Neuspeed, H&R, Tein, Espilir, Jackson Racing are basically the only spring/ sleeve coilovers i'd recommend.

Good brands
Do it right the FIRST TIME or you'll end up spending more $$$ in the long run.
