only you know how many pot holes and bumps you have sped over. I haven't abused my car too much so I think that's why I'm still riding smooth.

I have the TEIN S-Techs with stock shocks on my 5th gen and i love how it rides. It is not bouncy at all like other springs would do on stock shocks. I have had them on for a year and a half and no issues with them. They are a little stiffer than stock, but not much. Good buy for just springs.

keep in mind you and i have older models... hell they are all stuck with ob2's after '94... thats how much older our cars are...
simply put, their cars are newer and struts obviously newer... i strongly would not recommend driving on stock struts... how many miles on it? how low are you planning to go? one pot hole too many can cause many things, bottoming out is the least of your worries... just my .02
...
as i should have listened from the advice of others a long time ago, when doing suspension, do it right the first time for complete satisfaction... will save you time, money, and relief in the long run... regardless if youre doing the install yourself... after spending 12 hours installing my blues and gc's (thanks to a stripped bolt), i was so unsatisfied with how it rode and immediatley thought i shoulda saved up for some konis..
oh yah... ps... theres lotta threads on topics such as these...

the car has 190 000km on it and i dont plan to go any lower then 1.5 drop. one of my friends said if i dont want to change the shocks then i should go with coilovers instead?

how come? i was going to do that anyways but i also spoke to a friend today he owns a 96 integra and he put eibach adj coilovers on his stock shocks about a year ago. and he has no problems and hes lowwwww as hell. i thiink either way its the same thing. just a matter of preference. adj coilovers are a big plus though. u can always change the ride height. just the ride sucks sometimes.

coilovers on stock shocks will be like riding in a tank... why do you need coilovers? it has been my experience as through using gc's myself and talking with others that once you have that preferred ride height, youre more then likely to stick with it permanently... sure you have the advantages of adjusting ride height in the beginning till you get the comfort you want... but then everytime you want to mess with your ride height, youll need to get alignment again... (figuring you change setups every other month as opposed to adjusting for comfort)
however, there are other advantages... you can have custom spring rates which are really nice if you combo them with aftermarket dampening adjustable struts such as kyb agx, illuminas, yellows... the sleeved type coilovers such as gc's n skunk2s are good to go with the dampening adjustable struts
so, putting aside all the aformentioned, if you are indeed planning on getting gc's, and if that is honestly what you want, do NOT ride them on stock struts.... i believe the OTS rates for them are at 382 lbs... and i rode on that with blues and it was still too crazy on the roads... had to up the spring rate to about 550 i believe just to keep it stiff enough from bouncing around so much...
so in other words... with your stock struts, you cant really handle custom spring rates, so youd be stuck on ots rates and that will be a terrible ride comfort imo... stick with some regular lowering springs or else save money for a coilover + dampening adjustable strut

matter of preference, all the aforementioned are great if used on good struts... eventually though, be aware that on your car, with that many miles, your stock sturts are already on the ends of its ropes... so if you put more stress on the dampers, its gonna eat away at its life that much quicker... thus leading you to having to replace the stock struts anyway... save up money... if youre that desperate, go for at least tokico blues then, i bought em brand new for like 260? but i strongly suggest you just wait and get some yellows...
so to answer your question, yes they will all be fine on your stock struts... but just be aware that sooner or later youre gonna have to blow money on replacing them anyway.... so if you are going to pay someone to labor the suspension work, youre gonna have to pay two times around... i wouldnt feel safe riding on struts that old with a drop on some springs for more then 6 months (given the dreaded potholes i encounter around here)

yaa i understand haha. potholes are a big bitch. for now im jus goin with a comfortable spring around a 1.5" drop and then i will defenitly purchase shocks. i was thinking kyb's but anyways thats it 4 now thanks
