Get a hold of Cometic...they make gaskets in different thickness'. I dont know about using 2 gaskets, the Cometic ones work pretty well.

ya I've had to do that before and it worked. however if you would like to do it correctly then: take a depth gauge and measure how far the piston is ouf the hole.
say it is .020 in. out then call cometic for a gasket that is .020 + .030=.050 in. thick. and there you go, should have no problems what so ever. I have this happen sometimes when stroking things are thrown a little of or addition of several things like crank little off, too much decking of block, rod length mis calc by thousands, etc. But don't worry; but first find out how far out the piston is out of the hole. don't forget stock honda pistons usually sit about .010in. in the hole and stock gaskets are .028in. good luck and pm me for any other questions

so you would recomend going with two head gaskets........ when you double up on a gasket are you not affraid of the gasket shifting and causing a leek? I was tought through my ASE cert. class that doubling up can cause problems........... is this not true?

As a prior honda, lexus, toyota tech and engineer I am aware of this. I've done it in the past as a nessecity and worked, but that is not the correct way to fix this. your right but as for shiffting, the dowels do a good job. But lets do things right and not twice. . he should get the correct sized gasket and have no worries.

have the combustion chambers of your head resized to 85mm because that is most likley your problem anyway

nope. that would not be how to fix it. Don't forget the piston should be a few thousands of an inch down the hole. Plus smaller chambers make for good quench area. Lets fix it right and not guess at it.

Good info right here, do it once and do it correctly, dont just put a bandaid on the problem, its nice to see another person in this forum that knows their ****

Why are your pistons hitting your head? Did you have your head or block deck milled? An as fasr as gackets go, using 2 head gaskets is ok, but you can also just get thicker head gaskets instead or using 2. Are you boosting it? What do you want your compression ratio to be?

considering what section he posted in and after looking at those pistons you really have to ask that?

I may be way off here but i think lg_r32 is right. I remember when i was building my old motor,i went to pick up my head from Alaniz (joe) he told me i might have clearance issues with aftermarket pistons on the edges. He told me if i do to let him know and he will open up the clearance.

im guessing right at that edge is where your piston is hitting. Notice yours dome comes all the way out to the edge.

Hope that helps

after you get the thicker head gasket, it might not be a bad idea to lock the vtec rockers, adn clay the motor. measure how close you come with the larger lobe is in effect.

dont wanna go boom the fist time you go VTAK

I dont think they just accidently "over did it". Going with two head gaskets sounds like a ok fix for now. I would def get a cometic gasket as soon as I could though.
