Help me decide on swap for coupe.. yes I searched
Alright I have been on the internet all evening jumping websites, forums, etc.. and my brain hurts!!! So guys help me make a rational decision. Heres the story I will try to keep it short.
My car is in my sig and will be up for sale shortly. I am a junior in college at Missouri State and no longer have the need for such a car because I walk practically everywhere and she just sits! I really could use the money so I have come to the decision to sell her. I have decided to buy a 93-95 ex coupe 5 speed in decent condition. This car will hardly be driven except to and from college (200 mi drive approx.) about once a month. Next summer I plan on swapping the motor in my quest to go faster.
Ideally I would like a streetable vehicle that is capable of low 13s possibly even break 12s.
Until this evening I was thinking b18b + boost. It is an easy swap and the motor is great for it. However, my mind began wandering and I began to think of an H22 swap as the more reliable alternative. I would prefer the b18 w/ boost but given my situation the H22 might be the better choice as far as reliability goes? I guess the real question is: How fast are the H22 swapped coupes w/ bolt ons? From the given info do you think i would be satisfied? Please help Me!! Thanks in Advance.. whew

so the LS turbo could be reliable if it is tuned, but you said that your EX will hardly be driven only about 200 miles a month. But the h22 is a good idea but that will only break prolly high to mid 13's but with a LS turbo you could do better if its tuned right. I would choose boost over the h22 but thats what i think and did...good luck with your choice tho
thanks for the reply.. keep em coming guys!! But yeah.. it kinda varies.. I drive sometimes down here just not too often. I would really like to do turbo b im just worried about blowing it
I dunno what im gonna do...

i have an h22 in my ek and it does 12.8's (not with me driving. im no drag racer
.). i've done 13's easy in my car.
you will feel a weight difference though in turning, assuming you do any hard turning. but with suspension mods its nothing that'll totally **** you off.

i have a 93 ex and right now i have stock ls with just a greddy evo catback. for xmas im buying myself a turbo kit
and aiming for deep 12s possibly even 11s if i squeeze.
ls turbo is so easy to get into 12s....i have 2 friends that are only running 10 pounds, one is 12.7 and the other runs 12.8....both on slicks of course.
ls + turbo + gsr tranny + lsd + slcisk =

hmm... such a tough decision but now I think Im leaning towards boosting a b.. I know I will be overall more satisfied so I might as well go for it I suppose
do it!!! for the money it costs to build a fast all motor you can have a faster boosted car for cheaper and actually have more than 200 trq!! torque....on a honda!!! and not just 200whp that most ppl are limited to from n/a!!
