exhaust suggestions
Hey,
I have a 95 civic with an ls swap in it. Today i went and got my emissions test and failed!!!. Basically its the exhaust system, its about 6 yrs old, its a generic brand. I was wondering what kind of exhaust is quite, cheap, and will pass the smog test. I am tired of the one i got now, when i get on the interstate I can't even hear the radio. Any advice would be much appreciated. I was looking at this one in particular...

The Exhaust system has nothing to do with the emission system. The sole purpose of the exhaust system to muffle the sound wave of the exhaust gases coming out of the engine and of course to circulate the gases away from the engine itself.
The part this IS part of the emission system is the: O2 sensor, 3-way catalytic converter, PCV valve, EVAP control canister(aka charcoal canister), and EVAP purge solenoid.
Now there are several possible reason you failed emissions: inoperative O2 sensor, clogged catalytic converter, clogged PCV valve, timing is off, timing is too advanced, timing too retarded, vacuum leak, etc....
You haven't provided the data of what the emission readings were so I'm just pointing out the possibilities.

the emissions for CO reading was 10.09 and the HC was at 2277. AlsoI am running a cheap *** high flow cat. I don't really understand the readings. What can i check or change to fix this problem. have any other suggestions?.
