Default researching for swap: Post your timeslip, hp/tq - motor swaps with power adders please post

ok, While nearing the purchasing part of this project, a thought crossed my mind. Having driven musclecars daily since high school, the thought of a 16 second sohc vtec hatch sounds almost tedious. A power adder will definitely be needed, at least for the occasions I need to go fast. Coming from V8's where 150-200 hp nitrous hits are commonplace, i naturally really like nitrous. Is it as effective on smaller displacement engines? If any of you have nitrous, turbo, or supercharged dyno results, or et's please post so that I can get a feel for what it will take to meet my goals. Engine swaps and na builds are welcome as well, just please dont bother posting your 16second slip from your stock i/ex modded winged *** stage 2 clutch ricer.

Plan: dohc zc, sohc vtec d16 or ls motor/tranny + diy turbo 5-7 psi or 55-70 hp zex kit into 90 dx base trim hb

any similar swaps?

nothing, theyre fun, but do they really make your car that much faster? every dumbss here in tacoma has a stage 2 clutch and a "cam kit" on his slow, kitted, fartcan clad honda, even though his **** has a stock exhaust manifold, its built. You'll have to take his word for it though because he wont race anyone.

yeah unfortunatley ricers do ruin it for honda and no matter where you live the majority of honda modifiers are ricers. glad too see you switching from muscle cars to sport compact theres lots of fun too be had with your little import!

yeah... 14.3. that'd be fun. What are some swaps that produce similar results? Right now I'm looking at sohc vtec options. d16z6 sounds like it'd be allright. Anyone have Dseries sohc vtec+power adder numbers?

i swapped my d16z6 in not too long ago and im happy ... i was planning on going for a 50 shot setup until i got all my turbo components but now im starting to get into auto-x so im not focusing all my attention on power... a d16z6 running 7 psi on an effecient turbo with good traction, a good driver, and the ability to put that power down(stage 2 clutch ) should go low 14's... build the motor and you can run higher boost ... just make sure you get a dx tranny instead of an si... longer gears are better for turbo applications... good luck!

Not necessarily!

Why does everybody say this now?

and d16vtecx is right. a turbo SOHC, even on low boost, can definitely run 13's!

i have a 94 hatchback with a d16z6 and a 7# jrsc with the stock muffler on it. the best so far is a 14.3 @ 95mph(96degrees) on street tires. with cooler weather i think i can get into the 13s
