Default B18c swapped into 00 Civic SI

ok im sick of searching and im not sure of the general differences b/w the si and the other model civics.

so far we have pretty much everything done with this swap but i needed to know what other people have done with the throttle body cable in this swap. the plan so far has been to fabricate a spacer to adjust for the gap. also what ecu should i be running? the motor is a 94-97 jdm gsr, ecu is currently the 00 civic si. thanks guys

most would suggest running the gsr ecu (non-immobilizer) if you have it. otherwise an OBD1 chipped p28 would be the best. not sure about the throttle cable but I think the gsr should fit. unless you have skunk2 intake manifold, then type r cable would work. hope this helps but I'm no expert at all, just my $0.02.

well you cant run the gsr ecu unless you get a jumper harness from obd2a to obd2b. Are you still running the stock gsr manifold or are you upgrading?

I know this thread is dead and im posting in at again but i have been trying to search and have looked and im sure the info is out their but im having some probs finding it so im going to try and just ask.

Ok here is the situation, a buddie of mine blew up his ls/vtec so he bought a b18c and i dont know what all stuff he needs to do such as wiring ect ect. So far he has put the wiring harness off the ls/vtec on the gsr plugged everything in changed the pass mount, fixed the throttle cable to work and thats it, im just basicly looking for a run down of everything else except the obvious such as wiring, what ecu he needs or anything else that he will need to do. Thanks

B18C1 is tuned to have its most appropriate stock power with a 4400 vtec engagement. The 4800 feeling isn't VTEC, it's just the butterfly in the intake manifold

i'd suggest a P72 unless you're using an intake manifold with no butterfly, then you can use a P28 chipped.

P28 unchipped won't open the butterfly, and also has a rev limit of 6800 RPM I believe... Maybe 7200 don't remember.

Normally GSR rev as high as 8200, making power at roughly 7500 rpm.

The wiring should be okay, if he was using LS vtec then it's already wired for VTEC.

Also, if it's a 00 SI and you wanna be legal, you need an OBD2B so go with the P72 from a 2000-20001 GSR.
