Default gsr or ls tranny?

aight i got a 95 gsr. the gears are way too long for me.. i wanna swap in an LS tranny. my questions are

1)how much is each tranny worth?
2)will a clutch from the gsr fit the ls tranny?
3)will the redline be the same or go down to 7200?
4)anything else i need or just plug and play?

thanks, and this is for an all motor setup

I think you have this reversed. The LS tranny's gears are much longer than the GSR. In fact, it has the longest gears of all the B-series.

1)how much is each tranny worth?
LS = $200+
GSR = $500+
B16 = $600+

2)will a clutch from the gsr fit the ls tranny?
Yes

3)will the redline be the same or go down to 7200?
Redline remains the same. It is determined by your ECU/motor, NOT your transmission.

4)anything else i need or just plug and play?
Plug and play. All B-series transmissions are interchangeable.

what? i thought Ls had the shortest gear. cuz in my ls crx the gears were short as hell. and in my gsr it takes forever to go up. whats so special bout the b16 tranny?

Smaller numbers do not mean shorter gears.

I'll take your GSR tranny if you don't want it.

i'm kind of addicted to my LS trans. all new everything plus 4.40 final drive and ITR diff. i don't consider the gears too long. but then again i don't have a VTEC motor so my torque band is much more liveable. it's also a daily driver with LOTS of highway time. it sucks shifting all the time w/ short gears, and my motor can drive around at 1500rpm if i want it to in 5th gear. maybe that's the difference between you all and I (BTW for the rednecks, you all = ya'll).
