I belive the GSR block utilizes a different method of spreading the engine oil and there are more than that i think. Cuz if want to do it the other way you have to plug oil passages and run oil lines for vtec. However im not sure hopefully someone olse knows more. I have a Ls motor

its possible but why would you want to do that? it'd be a pain in the *** and you risk ruining the block.

for me, it's VERY easy to do....for you i don't know, but from what it sounds like i don't think you can pull it off..honestly. you'll be spending a lot more by doing this as well...you have to think about the gaskets you'll have to buy...the tools needed for the conversion...the different head bolts you'll need...the fluid you'll have to buy/drain and buy again. and not only that...as i've stated before, you risk ruining the block or head because you'll have to drill/align the block and head.

man, if this is important to you... move furniture and climb over couches for a few weeks and just have the motor in your living room or kitchen or something.. sleep on the couch and put the block on your bed, but dont do something stupid and expensive like that, and yeah i know its a 3rd floor appt, i read that part
