Default Engine bogging and Idling Rough? '91 Integra GS

This problem just appeared out of nowhere the other day...the engine has been idling rougher than it normally would. It still stays around the same idle speed, but it runs rough, like it's misfiring or something. The problem becomes less obvious the higher I rev the engine. Sometimes it will bog down, almost stall...sometimes it does stall. When I give it gas, it sputters, and has a harder time accelerating.

Any suggestions? I've checked the plug wires, ignition coil, and ignitor, and they all test within spec. Of course this has to happen just as it's getting colder out.

Any help is appreciated!

Would a bad fuel filter cause these problems so suddenly?

It might, you said u checked the plug wires...but did u check the plugs?

If its bogging, that might mean a vacuum leak, just check the vacuum lines to make sure they're still all good....

What about the cap and rotor? Check those? A bad cap/rotor will cause bad missfires. We once had a sentra in our shop that the rotor was so bad it only ran on two cylinders.

just try doing a tune up anyways... car probably needs it and it would probably solve your problem
