ive tried and tried to find a way to mount my escort 8500x50 to my bike. I even bought the power cord that you can use on a bike for it. It just is alittle too big to fit under my windscreen and not block something important. Plus I'm afriad the suction cups just don't have the strength to hold onto the windscreen on a bike at high speed (vibration). I've seen some that are small enough to fit under the screen but the reviews on them from radartest.com and the like are horrid. I'm now convinced I either need a solid mount of some kind made on my bike, or a V1 with the external sensors.

Passport 8500 x50 battery version. I think that's the name. I have the passport 8500 x50 one with wires for my car. I can't think today.

isnt that the passport solo 2 ? They're still alittle big, and I don't like the fact that the battery ones can never match a powered one. The way these battery ones save battery life is they shut off their detector every few miliseconds or something like that. On a bike i'm sure everyone here knows you're only gonna get a one or two second beep before you're *ucked.

or follow somebody that is speeding by about a mile, when you see them hit the brakes for a cop, do the same. You'll be doing the limit by the time the cop scans you.

It works for me, but the highways out here aren't crowded at all. not sure how it would work on really crowded roads.

i bought a Valentine 1 and used it quite a bit and when the laser goes off its just like saying "you just got a ticket"

i guess in areas where radar is still in heavy use, a detector is good, but in general i've found them to be a waste since laser.

as someone said, your eyes are the best detectors.

I have the 8500 X50 Blue display - saved me from at least 3 tickets the first weekend I "used" it.

You must get the screamer - you will not hear the detector at speeds over 50 if ya don't.

Install instructions are straightforward and easy to follow.

My last ticket was $431.00 - coulda saved that by gettin this setup earlier.

I almost feel nekkid w/o my detector now - even just riding ta work.

Angeles Crest Highway area is a double fine zone - 85 in a 55.

I really couldn't bitch too much I (and the guy I was riding with) was still decellerating from a lil 145 sprint from 2 hills back
