Hey guys, I've gotta h22 EJ hatch with a/c, tuned Hondata S200 (180.1whp), CM stage 3 clutch and BONE stock motor. I was wondering what the best turbo for me would be. I plan on running CRPTurbo custom manifold and DP and i'm not planning to try to make THAT much power. Just somewhere in the neighborhood of high 200s or low 300s on roughly 7psi. It's my daily driver. the maximum amount of $$ I have allotted for a turbo is $600 so anything that's around $5xx. I just wanna know which one would be the best bang for my buck for my motor for my car. Thanks ahead of time!
in the 5xx range your limited to pretty much the off the shelf t3/t4's. since it seems u want more peak numbers get a t3/t4e 60trim .63 a/r.
There's a guy in the sponsor forum - i think its kinetic motorsports............
He's selling the Garrett T3/T4 60 63ar for 560 shipped..........
I think i'm going with that.........but i REALLY want that sc61........its only $675 shipped which is a DAMN good price........and a DAMN good turbo...........i don't know...........i'm debating.

Well, that all depends upon the response you're looking for, the SC61 isn't EVERYTHING..It's a lot, but not EVERYTHING.

What EXACTLY are the pros and cons between the $560 t3/t4 and the $675 sc61 rather than the fact that the t3/t4 is almost $100 less? Is the SC61 that much more better so that I should go ahead and dish out that much more? Relatively speaking... $100 isn't that much but it depends on what the pros and cons are between the two turbos... So what are they?
t3/to4e 57 trim .63 a/r

i would also like to know. I plan on boosting pretty soon. im gonna build my spare H22 for boost if no one buys it soon.
EDIT - how about a T3/TO4E ball bearing turbo. would this be better then the SC61?

Well, *cracks knuckles intensively* The SC61 on the H22 has a bit of a peakier response level that shows its true form in the higher rpm range, and in my experience was not the best street setup. Many people will try to refute my statement with a dyno chart, but please remember that the particular data is on a 1:1 ratio level in ONE GEAR, and not taking into account the full range of the H22 transmission.
As for the "ball-bearing" upgrade (Man I should have thought of this marketing tactic years ago, I would have been rich
!!) The replacement bearing portion of the CHRA is only on the Compressor side of the CHRA and it replaces only that one journal bearing. It is NOT a replacment cartridge for like a GT30R or GT35R, which has both compressor, exhaust side, and thrust bearings are SS ball-bearing.
So I would say that a well-balanced and configured T3/T04E would do fine for the H22.

when your ready for the ideal turbo for your setup give the shodan a call. he will exceed all you expectations. Thats has been my experience with all the orders i've purchase from his company. I cant see myself getting a turbo from myself or any of my customers from anywhere else. speedtrapp

TheShodan... wanna help me build my h22 turbo civic?
I'm actually about to order a custom log manifold and DP from the CRPTurbo guys. I talked to them and they said they could make it work with my car with the a/c and front crossmember. Should be about $575 shipped for both... lmk what you guys think!

thnx for the input. SO a T3/TO4E 60 63ar would be a good setup for a prelude? I am planning on making no more then 500whp. would the t3/to4e give me the performance i want? because i seen a SC61 making 360whp on a h22 with 8psi.
