lol.. um.. the body style is the same on all Integras, except the later ones (98+ I believe) which had a slightly different front bumper. The difference is the ECU program; 94-95's use OBD1 which many claim is better for making power as opposed to OBD2 which all other years use. Opinions differ on this issue.. do a search for more info :>

edit.. the body style is the same on all 3rd gens is what I meant.

The body style is not EXACTLY the same. I would think the 98+ body style had a tad more engineering involved. (ie: no silly looking plastic piece preventing airflow into the radiator, functional front end lip). Body style is not going to be all that of a factor.. especially since the diffrence between the 2 are almost insignificant.

However, since they put in OBDII ecu's, in order to meet 1996's (or 97's) national emissions laws.. the Integra lost like 2-3 flywheel hp or something. Essentially, the 94-95 gsr's are the fastest. But not according to the reasons given by your friends.

94-95 are faster only because of its obd1 ecu
every mod after will eventually, be a bigger gain than obd2 models.

i hate the front bumper and the stupid splash guards of the 94-95s
but i like the rear bumpers alot more.

Flywheel hp is the same (170 hp)...on the other hand, a good 94-95 integra will yield low to mid 140's, the 98 and up low to mid 130's. For some reason, the 98+ is said to be weaker than the 96-97, and definitely weaker than the 94-95.

Check out http://www.dynocenter.com/ and see for yourself. Note that results do vary for different cars yields different results, but I trust the data there.

Man, I want a OBD2-->OBD1 conversion...

I have a 95 gsr myself and it feels faster than the 98+ ones I've driven (when my car was bone stock). But I actually managed to run a 15.0 stock with it 100% stock, not even lowered.

I test drove 2 98GSR, 1 96GSR, 1 95GSR, 1 94GSR(*the one I bought*). From testing driving the 5gsr, the 94-95 felt faster then the other years.

i have a 95' gsr and it has been consistently faster than it should be for 7 years now...people still wonder what i have under the hood...the trick is no spare, no gas, and run like hell. If you don't beat the Sh*t out of your teg, the car plain sucks.

and as far as your question, i think that on the whole, the 94-95 are faster, but i have run with newer bodystyle gsr's on the street (this light baby blue one comes to mind) and we were dead even. on the other hand, my car does feel stronger than the newer ones....go figure

best upgrade (and one I'll get someday) is OBD2-->OBD1 for OBD2 cars IMO...for less than $500, you can get a stronger car by at least 5-10hp

early 94s have also been rumored to have "massaged" cams and some sort of lsd...

If i'm not mistaken, the 98+ body styles still have the silly plastic piece blocking the radiator, the only thing different is that it isn't painted like the 94-97 models

Anyways, the general consensus around here is that 94-95 integras should be faster out of the factory because of OBD-I, but most of these integs now have high mileage(hence my 94 GSR with 126,500 miles) and might lose a few hp due to that wear and tear. And also to add to that, each car is different and some 98+ GSRs come out of the factory faster than normal or slower than normal. HTH
