my water pump went last week and my car overheated, and i drove about 30 miles on H, i was dead broke and couldnt afford to towe it, and was late for work already cause my battery died aswell, i jus drove till i got home, my headgasket didnt blow, runs fine vtec engages nice, everythings good, doesnt overheat but i dunno if its me but it seems a lil slower.....is there a way to check wat damage was done by this with out changing the headgasket? ie.compression check, because i plan on putting in some type r cams and spraying pretty soon but wanna make sure its running strong or else id jus throw a gsr block in and not bother w/the b16

 

compression test then leak down, you probably put a ton of strain on the engine running it so hot..

 

yeah you probably just put alot of stress on the motor, and there may be weak spots now..
