Snow Tires for 2006 Accord EX????
Just traded in my 1993 Accord for a 2006 EX 4 manual-15" tires-alloy rims. I live just outside of Boston and we get a good amount of snow/ice/crud. The 1993 Accord was a very poor car in the winter, even with good all weather tires. The gearing made it hard to get started and it did not drive well in slush or dig out well in deep snow. After I put on top rate snow tires it handled winter conditions very well - safely. Decided not to buy a 4 wheel drive it did so well.
Any opinion if the 2006 will be similar? Should I just plan on getting snows or wait and see.
Thanks,
Al

Please don't consult the "Farmers Almanac" for the winters' forecast; it's NEVER accurate. If Bostons' efforts in snow removal is anything like Providences', we're both in deep trouble.
But all isn't lost. I have an '88 which at first had Dunlop M&S tires, and yes it was like trying to drive a Zamboni. I got fed up with the unauthorized direction changes and opted to change out the tires (they were "weener" tires anyway) and lucked into a set of Toyo Spectrum M&S tires; and now all four Honda's in my drive have Toyos' on them. If driven with respect, they will work fine. Either that or you'll have to opt for true snow tires (hidious thought).

I'm going to be getting a set of mounted Blizzak WS-50s for my 2002 around the end of the month. I've used Gislaveds on both FWD and RWD Volvos for years with great results, and the Blizzaks are actually supposed to be better (and cheaper). I've been living in the Boston area all my life so I know how much New England winters can suck. Tires really do make all the difference.
