Default Quickie: Si brake booster on my dx?

Just wanna make sure if this works real quick. I dunno why it wouldn't, but the 4 disc brakes and all don't matter, do they? Thanks in advance, just don't wanna screw myself with a foolish mistake.

If you want a good deal, increase your braking power a little, get the EX MC & booster. It is bolt on and cheaper than real brand new Si parts. It also works well if you have the EX front knuckles too, they had bigger rotars and calipers (bolt ons as well).

SiMateoAko is selling the new fronts, but I just put new tires on my 13s and I like them like that. I'd only ever do rear si discs. I'm asking cuz I can get a 90 si bb for 20 bucks shipped. Thanks for the quick reponse though.

If your going through all the trouble get something worth your time. The EF Si booster is only a 205V, if you get and EG Si it is 230V, but if you really want to step up to nice braking power get the LS/GS 260 or the ABS 290V.

Only reason I am saying this is because it feels so nice to have 260V booster and MC. If you do go back to your plan of Si booster makes sure you get the EX 15/16MC.

I'm not downgrading, I had the stock dx booster that is dead now. Will an EX MC fit on the si booster?

If you can find a 260V booster and MC ****** it up. I have picked up 2 one at $40 and one at $60 both booster and MC from LS/GS Integra.

Correct your not upgrading either cause DX and Si boosters are the same. Most are 205V so by putting an Si one on it will be exactly like the DX one that is dead.

Where should I look for the ls/gs brake booster? I'm going to look on ebay now, but my junkyard will charge me at least 80 for anything, which is why the 20 dollar option is so attractive. Right now I'm not worrying about upgrading, just getting it working, but I will upgrade if I don't have to go out of my way to go in debt and pinch pennies for a month (high school senior, no job, haha, waiting for some calls). Thanks for the help, I'll price stuff know, but I dunno how to identify different integras, :-(

EF 205

LS/GS 260

I would just search for an Integra one locally. No one ever thinks about the LS braking system just make sure it isn't and ABS one. No matter what you get keep booster and MC together whether it is ABS or NON ABS. ABS booster will bolt on but it is 290V and must be kept together with ABS MC. Don't mix and match parts.

The other reason for the LS is that you don't have to modify your brake lines. I will get better pics in the daylight tomorrow.

As you can see to the LS/GS booster is much bigger in size than the EF booster.

Now I am intrigued, I think this might be a good idea for me as well

BTW... I have no idea what I did with the info on the poor-man's EX brake upgrade. CRX Toad, do you have the link to the Accord Wagon Rotors/Calipers upgrade for the EF?

There ya go, that's the guy. I printed it out, and I am compiling parts for the front, but my back end will probably remain drums for the time being. At least I was able to compile a reasonable parts list from that thread for my front end.

Do you mean something like this?

I have no link but I can tell you how to do it.

Get DA or 90-91 Civic 4dr EX Knuckles. If you are lowered DA's will be fine and they are easier to find.
Get Legend/ITR/Accord Wagon calipers and caliper bracket
Mill the bracket 2.5mm the piece of the bracket that touches the knuckle.
Redrill Prelude VTEC rotors to 4x100 (or buy from fastbrakes)
Add LS/GS 260V MC and Booster for flavor.

Bolt together and voila! MASS BRAKING POWER!

Ah, so now I guess I'm going to wait on the integra ls bb and mc to come up cheap, instead of going back to stock. Are there any other BBs that suck 260 vacuum like the ls does?

SVOboy any Integra with no abs will work. And you need to use the DA (90-93) front knuckles. It is well worth the time and effort to precure these parts.

Yes they are a wonderful thing. You push the pedal down less than a 1/4" an you are already starting to slow down a little. They are wonderful.
