Default ECU GURUS PLS HELP

Well this morning I had to get gas...
I was nearly empty...Got in the car and like always I primed the lines (fuel lines)
but this time i heard something weird...like a hollow pop sound
(empty gas tank) i thought...i proceeded to turn the car on...it fired up
after 30sec's the car just died...then there was a burnt smell...
Well I dont know if this type of **** happens when you get an EMPTY GAS TANK
IF NOT can someone tell me what caused this...???
Can someone Identify what blew? TIA...
Here are the pics...

This is the second time this happens by the way...
Same way (on nearly empty gas tank)
(first time on my P28 and now on my P06) (the p06 was virgin)
I used this ecu to get around since my P28 was GONE!

Prior to this the only check engine light that I had was the 02 sensor
which was going to be replaced soon...

I doubt its my wiring...
i've ran this wiring since i did my swap back in 2002
its a DX harness with the respectable vtec converstion
*never had a problem*
I ran the P06 for nearly 6/8 months after my P28 went...
the funny thing is that i ordered a chipped P28 from Kenji on FRIDAY
and this **** happens to me today...blah...new ECU should arrive soon...

I still want to know what may have caused this...
I think its fuel/main relay related...anyone else want to take a shot?

I have seen that capacitor fail on about half a dozen ECUs.

It is pretty strange that two failed on you. However, I don't think it is related to running your car low on fuel.

In any event, your ECU is on its way.

Maybe a bad short that is very intermittant. Probably not even related to the conversion you did on the harness. To try and isolate any possible problems back track fron the fried components to see what circuit in the vehicle thay are related to.
