Default 05 RSX-S VS 06 CIVIC SI

I need some of your opinions to help me out with my decision. To make a long story short i need a new car (blew 3 motors h22a in my accord) and i want something with warranty but at the same time a car that is going be quick in all quarter mile and highway races these are the two cars that really caught my eye 2005 rsx-s (210 hp) and the 2006 civic si (197 hp) i think. what is up with acura 2006 rsx-s i read that it is only going to have 201 hp why would they they go down in horse power is there a reason. how much does the civic weigh compared to the rsx and what do you think about the two .

the 2006 RSX-S went down in power to correlate with the new SAE calculations for horsepower. It is still the same.

As for which you should get? Doesn't matter because if you blow up a warranteed k-motor, the dealership will laugh at you for warrentee voiding.

How dumb can you ******* be to blow up 3 motors. You shouldnt be highway racing like a numbskull.

I believe it states in the rules that bench racing is stupid and against the rules.

Both cars are comparably equiped.

the si and rsx-s have similar weights. rsx has a higher (numerically) 5th or 6th gear ratio I believe.

that means that the rsx tranny has shorter 5th and 6th gears right?

not entirely true. engine wise, they are the same, but there are color changes and i read somewhere about a FD change and the 06 had a shorter FD. the 06 has a 4.77 FD. can anyone confirm the 05 FD?

I believe the rsx-s has the itr FD in 05 and 06

And yes rsx gears should be shorter. si has longer gears for higheway cruising. Thats what I heard anyway I dont think honda has officially released the gear ratios yet. I cant remember if it was 5th, 6th, or both. Just 5th doesnt make sense so it is either just 6th or 5th and 6th.

The Type-S is much sexier then the new SI (my opinion). You can always add the LSD. Trust me you wont be disappointed with the RSX!

neither should you be disappointed with the 06 Si.. You can get one with navi for probablly cheaper than the RSX-S with no navi or the LSD... Unless if there are some improvements to the new 06 RSX-S or price cut (impossible), I don't see how they're gonna out sell them against the Si's.

Looks, Leather, Badge

Also, I dont know what kind of speakers the Si hase, but the 7 speaker Bose system in the RSK is nice.

Color would also be a factor for me as well. I love the RSX style more, but the DVD Nav and Motor just call me more. I am willing to be in 2007 or 8 they change the RSX completely for a slightly more modern design. The RSX still seems to hold its traditional design points (similar with the acura line up), while the Civic is moving more modern like the rest of the honda familiy.

My uncle runs a dealership in new york. The Ex Premium sound sytem is really nice with a subwoofer in them. Not sure how many speakers though. I'm sure the Si will have this.

THE GEAR RATIO on the 06 si is identical to those of the 00 si expect for 6 which is for crusing on the high way..
