Default 95mm stroke + gt35r turbo question

i am planning a build up for the winter using a gt35r turbo. my question is, will the gt35r be enough turbo for a 95mm stroke x 84mm bore? will it be outside of the surge limit at low boost, say 8 psi? will i be pushing it past its effciency range at say 18 psi? details of setup below.

either dart tall deck, or deckplated b18 block
b16 head
some sort of turbo cam, undecided right now
8.5:1 compression

other details will be decided on later, such as intake manifold, throttle body, most likely some port work. the head will be fully built, i am just undecided on what internals i will be using for it right now.

any help would be appreciated.

We run a .82 A/R GT35R on a buddies 2.4L DSM and it runs great. Doesn't surge at all. The infamous AMS evo was running a GT35R on a 2.3L motor for a while as well with no issues.

i ment no, as in you shouldnt have any problems w/ this turbo. its capable of over 600 hp, and i doubt you are going to make that on the 18 psi you mentioned. i own this turbo, and so does one of my freinds. on his car, a 2.0 built gsr, this turbo still had plenty left at 22psi. you should also consider that you will have an oversquare motor therefor you need to be more cautious about how high you rev because of you rod/stroke ratio. alot of the pros using large turbos (t4) are taking their motors to 10,000+ rpm just to keep spooled. you should learn how to read compressor maps they would be very helpful to you

i know how to read a compressor map somewhat, i just can't remember how to get the numbers i need right now. there was an article in scc once that told you how to do that. i guess its time to dig through the old magazine pile. also, i believe a oversquare motor is one with more bore than stroke, which would make mine undersquare. i don't plan on 10k rpm, i would be happy with 7800-8000. the reason i mentioned 18 psi is because thats what i think i will limit myself to on pump gas. im sure at some point i will throw in some c16 and see what it can really do, but not until i get some experiance on lower boost first. i drove a friends turbo gsr hatch at 18 pounds on a smaller turbo than the gt35r, and it was a handfull.

i never even thought of the ams evo...and thats one of my favorite cars. i have been up for way too many hours. gotta get some sleep. thanks for the help guys.

also, does anyone have an cam suggestions for my setup. what about a head porter. i would love to go with one of Brad's (RLZ) heads, but im not sure i can handle the wait. last i head it was quite a while.

I would suggest gsr or itr cams... They have been proven time and time again to give great #'s.

i was thinking either itr cams, or custom ground...i may try out the itr and see how i like them. im sure they will be a little cheaper than the custom route.

also, i was very tired last night, i forgot something. about the 95mm stroke, and high rpm...that is the reason for either the tall deck, or the deck plate. i will be able to use a longer rod, and get an improved r/s ratio. thanks guys, if anyone has any more suggestions, lets hear it!
