Sticking E-Brake

Default Sticking E-Brake

when i park with my e-brake, it works fine but when i put it down it has about 3 clicks of slack and doesn't tighten untill i drive the car about 20 miles sometimes more. wuts wrong and how can i fix it. i have a 97 civic ex and it happens everytime i pull the e-brake please help

First I would say make the adjuster nut isnt loose or anything.

no its not loose everything is how its supposed to be but it seems its just not going back its sticking!

SO you pulled off the pieces that cover the handle? Something could be stuck in there and be moving around.

this happend to me all the time also. i still cant figure out how to fix it.

i pulled out the entire center console and i pulled off the e-brake assembly and the only thing that was stuck was the two cords that go to the brakes the line doesn't go back into it
