Default Finally made it to track with my D16 turbo! Timeslip posted.

Setup:
D16Y8 Block
SRP Pistons and Eagle Rods ~ 10:1 C/R
ACL bearings
Stock sleeves bored .020 over
D16Y8 Head
Zex 105300 camshaft
Zex Valve Springs
Precision SC50 Turbo .48 A/R
Precision 600hp intercooler
Tial BOV and 38mm WG
Lovefab SST mani
Full 3" downpipe and exhaust
Greddy Profec B Spec II EBC
Hondata S200
RC Eng 750cc injectors
Stock Y8 tranny and axels
ACT street disk and HD pressure plate

This is the first run done on 22x8x13 M&H slicks. Slick pressure was at 13 psi, second gear burnout, 6000rpm launch without preloading the clutch or drivetrain.

On my second and last run one of the spark plug wires popped off the distributor on the launch and I ran the 1/4 on 3 cylinders. Came out to be a 15.x run, LOL.

I'm hoping to hit 12's with a little messing with the slick pressure. Also I think the trap speed seems alot lower than expected.

Here is the dyno at 11psi which is kind of funky and I'm not sure how accurate the power numbers are. Long story. The run at the track was about 13-14psi.

nice !!! finally your work paid off !

on your dyno... at how much psi you were ? I dont know but the only thing I find weird is your power/torque curves ???

Yeah we thought it was boost spike on the dyno, but the datalogs weren't showing it.

The trap does seem kind of low. Someone suggested to me that it could be the dip in the torque curve, if that dip is actually there or if it was just the dyno. Here is the thread about the weird dyno if anyone wants to read it. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1215544

Good runs man!!!
There is one thing i dont understand though..

Either that dyno reads high or the dyno where i dynoed read low..

If those numbers are real you should be trapping atleast 110mph..

You have more power than i do(6whp+)..even though my torque is alot more than yours(44lb/ft +)

Anyways..congrats on those times.

I agree. I trapped 109 with a 2.6 60'(don't ask ) on ~273whp on a dynojet. Good time none the less

you can clearly see signs of boost creep in that dyno graph..

Yes, there is something weird with the dyno. I am looking for a new tuner, since mine moved away. Once I figure that out I'll be back at a different dyno to retune and maybe raise the boost some.

It's not boost creep. Check out this datalog.

You can also read in this thread about the weird dyno, that is still an unsolved mystery. We think it is the load settings in the Mustang dyno. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1215544

strange
i've never seen torque that continues to climb...
either way good job on a d series...

let us know when you dip into the 12's

It could however be that the boost creep was occuring on the dyno for some strange reason and not the street, because that datalog was done on the street the day after the dyno. Another thing that was weird is in that datalog we were hitting 1 bar on the street, but only 11psi on the dyno and I didn't change anything.

were you reading the datalogs from the same source?

That happens..It happened to me as well.. We tuned on 17-18 PSI in the dyno..All the runs where at that PSI level and we didnt touched anything..right after unstrapping the car from the dyno we went for a street drive and it would go to solid 20PSI.

from the looks of that graphof the boost pressure, its pegged at 1 bar, so you werent running 11 psi but something like 15...

oh nvm read it was a street datalog

I'll be raising the boost soon and possibly running nitrous.

****. Nice job. I'm tuning my SC50'ed D16 sometime this month hopefully, I just need some time.

Hopefully I'll put down some similar numbers on pump gas and god knows what on race gas.

It was creeping boost on the dyno for power to build like that at such high RPM's. A datalog from the streeet the day after doesn't really tell us much.
