SHAVED DOORS? ANYONE....
i am wondering those with shaved doors or those that have been around shaved doors. the functionality: do door popper kits work well? and i would like to know any problems that have been met with the CRX with shaved doors and the door poppers and or actuator. any help?
friend had these on crx for a while before they broke after a month or two. he was climbing in and out of his hatch. HAHAHAHA you don't wanna get into car like that

Some tracks don't let you race with shaved doors. I used to work at a car audio shop and we installed them. They can be made to work reliably, but still not 100%, we always installed manual hidden releases in case the battery would go dead or what not. Personally I think they are a waste of time and money, and cause more problems then they are worth.
I thought about getting mine shaved but I'm going w/ some keyless door handles and an ALARM w/ power locks instead. Way cheaper and easy to revert to stock if ever needed.
However, shaved door handles are the ****. Now I am confused again. ****. Damn you!

Shaved handles can look cool but you will not be allowed at the track. And if you get into an accident someone will not be able to get you out. Just something to think about. I like the rear door handles from a 4dr with keyless entry. If it so simple but no one catches it. I would do the 4dr handles before I shaved them. CRXBart has it down too, and he knows his crap he has been around the and know the electrical works of most cars.

depends on the track. ours dont mind. and if ur doors are locked when ur in a accident they wont be able to get you out weither you have handles or not. either way a window is gunna get broken. i like the look of the 4 door ones better tho.
i think shaved doors would look good i don't really know how long they would work i guess it depends on where you get them done at my friend has shaved doors on his truck and he's had them for over a year and hasn't had any trouble with them..
Ive had shaved door handles on my old ej8. Everything worked flawless for the 1st year or so, but after that everything went to ****. I was forced to crawl in through the trunk a few times and open my doors that way. Also, on more than one occassion, my passenger door wouldnt open, so my pass. had to get in Dukes of Hazzard style....damn that **** was embarassing. Overall, i think they look pretty dope, but for a daily driver...I'd stay far away. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

If you really want to shave something. Shave the locks. Run the 4door rear handles in the CRX or hatch easy mod, cleans it up, and doesn't effect functionality w/ power locks and keyless added. It is actually an anti-theft mod I do to all my efs to ensure the lock rod can't be slim jim'ed.
A shaved kit with a hidded emergency handle is just an easy way for a theif to get in your car.
If I was a theif there are about 10 local cars I could break into and rob, because I installed the release, but I'm not a theif so I don't. Thats not to say others haven't worked on the cars and found the releases or a friend of a friend saw it ect.
