Default Suspension questions for an 88 CRX HF. What will fit?

My girl friend has a 1988 CRX HF and she wants to do shocks and springs. I'm just gonna keep it simple. I want to do KYB GR2's (basically stock right?) and Tein S tech springs. I was just gonna buy this stuff on Ebay to keep it cheap. But I get tripped up, because it says that the springs are for 89-91 crx. Does this mean I can't use 89-91 springs on an 88 HF? Also whats the difference in the year model shocks?

Im not sure why it says 89 - 91 but all i know is that 88 - 89 are similar either if its Si or HF and the 90 - 91 dont go along right with exterior parts like the fenders. But Im sure tho that the springs will fit a 88 tho . . .

so if I buy shocks for an 88 hf i can use springs that would be sold for 89-91 crx's

Those kyb's for the hf are only like $120 I really want to get her those teins because they don't drop the car so much, and they are probably good quality too.

Yeah, the CRX (itr) LCA's are "box style" the shock goes through them. The 89-91 LCA's are like other hondas, where the shock goes around the LCA and mounts to it.

I emailed two guys that were selling tein s-techs on ebay and they said that they wouldn't fit an 88 crx. what the hell!?!? but there are other springs that will work for both 88-89 crx's. god this is annoying.
