Gotta use the header for the H22, but it has to be cut near the catalytic converter, because the H22 header is longer then the Accord header.

You can use either the CAI or SR for the accord, or use the H22 SR, but I'm not sure about a H22 CAI fitting in an accord. I heard that the 4th Gen prelude would work, but I don't know for sure.
I currently use a H22 SR, because it's wider in diameter than the F-series.

Would assume the one for vtec. Ask the guys at the prelude forum. I'm using a JDM header.

I'm running a JDM P5M in my 97 Accord. It works fine with no check engine light. However, if the dealership or your smog station needs to plug into your computer, it will not get a reading. When I smog my car, I use the original ecu. As for my headers, I use the prelude header. I cut the piping for my exhaust which moved the catalytic converter back.

I have a 98 H22A4....the non-SH model. When I smog, I use the original headers that came with the engine. Right now, I have Mugen headers. My P5M is from a JDM prelude. I believe it was a 97 model.....no immobilizer.

How was the wiring for the ecu? I just ordered a jdm p5m-N51 auto and need to convert it to manual. My car is a 97 accord se. I already added wires for knock sensor and vtec and iabs. I used conversion harness for obd2 to obd1 for my p13. My p5m is obd2 though. I notice one of the plug ports is empty.. did you habe to do a lot of rewiring?

Why aren't you leaving the P13 ECU in the car instead of using a P5M ? There is absolutely no advantage of the P5M ECU over the P13... and if you just want a "Plug-n-Play" ECU, you could use a USDM P13 from a 1996 Prelude VTEC and your Accord will be much happier from a wiring standpoint.

Im still learning how to use these forums amd im not sure if this is how to reply or not, so please don't roast me lol!

So.. i have a jdm h23a vtec blue top.
using usdm 98 prelude oil pump, crank sensor, dizzy, and injectors (290cc).

Ive read that the p13 uses 345cc injectors, so i thought the p5m would run better due to the 290cc injectors.? I deleted the resistor box also.

Im about to open the jdm obd2 p5m-N51 to convert it to manual by removing the 000 ohms resistor from rp13 and installing it into rp14.

Im curious to know of the jdm ecu will work in the usdm obd2 car and components? Or will i habe to change my dizzy and rewire stuff? I slapped it in and it started the car fine, but i didnt drive it.

The car was running filthy rich, because i had gas smell in my oil. The piston rings tested 220psi at 5 cranks across the board and pressure stayed steady, so im assumimg they were replaced not long before i bought the engine. Gas is so light that i can imagine any unburnt fuel will leak past the rings ragardless.

I just received my ECT, IAT sensors and will replace them this weekend alomg with the temp guage sender. My car takes 20 minutes for the guage to read the proper temp even though the engine is hot and thermostat opens. I read the ECT and IAT sensors can cause car to run rich. My o2 sensor is brand new. I only have intake/header/exhaust bolt on's and i have read and been told multiple times that i should not need a tune for those mods..?

Hoping the new sensors will solve the running rich problem.

Do you know if the JDM ecu will work without any modifications to the ecu other than the auto to manual resistor swap? Do you still think i should just use the obd1 p13? Ive been told the car could also run richer because the p13 ecu. Is this true?

I muchly appreciate you sharing your knowledge with me! Thank you so much!
