how hard could it be? **** maybe if ur serious into racing you could redesign reverse to be 6th gear. it couldn't be too hard. then when u need to back into a parking space u gotta get out and push.

Don't count on it being anywhere near that cheap. I've seen custom gearboxes go for as much as 20k before. I'd think that something simple like a B-series 6 speed wouldn't go for less than 8k.

Not any B-series tranny. The DC5 ITR (with a K20A) has a 6-speed, but it won't work for a B-series.

Contact Quaife or Prodrive, and see if they'd make an adapter plate which would allow you to mount the K-series 6-spd to the B-series block. This would most likely require custom axles and input shaft among other things.
Not sure what the feasablity there is for that application, but I know it's not that uncommon on the world of domestics. Most domestic transmission adapter plates/kits allow you to mount GM 2 & 3 speed automatics to virtually any RWD engine.

You are aware that the K series motors sit in the engine bay in the opposite direction right? Doing something like this would make the tranny spin backwards and place the axle location right in front of the header.

Well then, there goes that possiblity. Ya, I thought the tranny may be on the other side in a K-series, but wasn't sure.

Actually there is a company that offers a custom 6 speed. It was posted a while ago in the ITR forum.
Also there is another company that is now making a set of straight cut gears, with all custom ratios. These where actually for sale on e-bay.
