This might be my hardest decision ever... help me.
I am in love with the s2000, I absolutely love the look, and performance. I test drove one once, and instantly fell in love with it. The problem was is I cannot afford a 35k dollar car new. I also love my integra that I flew all the way to wisconson to get. Heres my situation: By word of mouth, someone told me that a woman is selling her 2001 s2000, (yellow my favorite color for it), bone stock with 9700 original miles on the clock. She wants 20k for it. That is in within a reach. This winter I was going to take a loan out for my integra, rougly 4-5k and build the motor. By the way my integra gsr is turboed pushing 235whp @ 7psi daily, has jdm front, lots of other goodies, and has 45k original miles on it and its a 1996. Now if i sold my integra for 15-16k I could use that loan to this s2000. It's either I sell my integra thats fast already, or buy the bone stock honda s2000 i love then build that in a year from now or something after loan is paid. Help.
you missed the most important thing...
1. insurance difference.....
other things you missed...
1. maintenance (it's not cheap to maintain the S..) tires will cost you a lot of money every 10k miles or so...
2. oil changes are more expensive then they are for an integra...
3. modifications (aftermarket parts) are way more expensive
yada yada yada... list goes on...

I'm in/was the same shoes as you. I decided to keep the integra, since they stopped making it in the states, and it would be hard to get another one in the same condition. Since the s2k is still in production in the states, you could always find one later on. But, s2k is nice.. i would check with your insurance for the rates if you got one... it might now be worth it overall. btw, it'll be harder to sell your car with the mods you listed, esp. with turbo. You might not end up with the price you wanted.
Good luck!
Good luck!
^ an integra is a lot easier to find then an s2k..... i hope you realize the s2k is built in very limited quantities compared to the integra/rsx... and it won't be in production for to much longer..... plus all the idiot kids picking them up for around 17-20k as their first RWD car and ending up sending it into a tree/pole or ditch...
^ true.. as a matter of fact a kid from my high school got a brand new '05 for his grad present. He drives like a jackass.. and its his first car.
im 18, but i dont drive like a ********, i love my car as it is and only use the power here and there. I understand the insurance difference, and aftermarket and maintanence pricing. I can afford all of that I work like a fiend. I went and looked at the S2k today, its disguistingly clean, i cannot even explain. I made up my mind and I'll be selling my integra, thanks for the opinions guys

well since you've decided on getting one...
first mod should be taking a performance driving class or enter a local sanctioned auto x to learn some of the characteristics of the car....
also...
1. do not gun it in the rain... your tires can't handle it..
2. no tapping the brake in mid turn
3. don't mash the throttle in mid turn
and when it comes to modding the car.... do it right and spend the money or don't do it at all...

of course, i will not half *** this car, only high quality parts will go on. Also I'll have a beater soon so I'll drive it in good weather and this car will never ever see winter.
