if i had the money i would use Mobil-1, but since i change oil every 2500 ( i dont see the point of high dollar oil ),so i use castrol syntec. 10 bucks for a a 5qt bottle. and 5 bucks for wix filter, you cant go wrong with that -)

some castrols syntecs on the market are A3 as well..
and also BMW 5w30 oil (which is made by castrol) is also A3 rated.
so is redline, but way to overpriced for my budget.
ACEA A3
(look on the back of the bottle, the rest of the inferior oils will have ACEA A1 on the back)

I was a GC user until the green became extinct. Can the Castrol BMW oil be purchased at any BMW dealership?

Is royal purple an ACEA A3 oil?
I'm gonna give that BMW Castrol a shot for my next oil change, i'll be sure to get an oil analysis for it as well.. maybe compare that vs. M1 0w-40

My last B16 burned though a quart of Mobil 5w30 between changes. It barely drank any Royal Purple. For any kind of performance setup I run royal purple, for anything else I just use Castrol GTX.
Any 5w-30 dino oil will do the trick.

any oil period. the block is used..meaning the rings have already seated. (or atleast we hope lol)
