Default ITR vs. skunk2 intake manifold

Ok im about to invest in an intake manifold (recent track trip proved my car needs more power.) and im wondering if anyone has seen a head to head comparison of diffrent intakes on a b16. i would like to get some mid/high range power without sacrificing the low end. TIA - Joe

haha.. b16a doesnt have any "low end".. you need to keep it above 6k.
get the ITR manifold, it's cheaper and of better quality.

Bambino, don't be a fool. Get the Skunk2. Anyone who's owned an ITR im and the Skunk2 will tell you.

The skunk2 IM and ITR IM are pretty much the same thing. The main difference is you can't fit a ITR IM on your B18C head without modifications so you would use the Skunk2 for your GSR. The ITR manifold bolts right up to your B16 head. So get the Type R Intake Manifold for your B16.

I would just go with the ITR. The Skunk2's manifold casting looks hella cheap. If you can get them to both generate the same amount of power just go with the OEM ITR!!!!

The manifold shouldn't whistle. Sounds like you got a leak somewhere.

Yes, the S2 ITR manifold flows a little better than the factory ITR unit.

Hey guys i know the gsr manifold is very restrictive, but if he has the b16 manifold why not pick up some ITR cams instead. Also with the skunk manifold wont he need to get a type r CAI, just something to think about.

The stock b16 manifold will give you more low/mid range power because of its longer runners. Whoever said get new cams has the right idea. If anything get a ctr intake cam and tune it. What are your current mods? Might want to try a 4-2-1 header or an aem cai. Depends how much $ you're willing to dish out.

I just got a S2 IM for my B18C. As you can see, I only have I/H/E for my go mods. I'm going to install it soon and I was wondering if i'll lose ALOT of low end power. I know I'll be making power from 5k and up, but I'm a bit worried I might lose alot on the bottom end.

I'm willing to sacrifice some low end power to gain up top, but if I'll be losing too much low end, then I might change my mind, so HELP ME OUT folks! Thanks!

Thanks dick

Why the hell would Skunk2 create an exact duplicate of the ITR intake manifold?
