how do you like your k-1's? I'm having a set of 17" K-1's installed tomorrow. my tire width though is 205 as well. When I was searching for wheels, the only tire size that any of the online sites would let me match to any set of 17's was 205/40/17. even for wheels that were 7.5 wide instead of 7".

if your car is lowered i can see putting 205/40/15 but i stick with 205 50 15's. if you go to 16's then the correct tire size would be 205/45/16 i really wouldn't get a much wider profile for the car than what is reccommended from the factory(tire rub issuses). if you want more traction go the suspension rought. you've got a good set of rims already, so there's no reason to spend more money on new rims just because you're not hooking up to your satisfaction. try new springs/coilovers, strut bars(top and bottom) a strut bar for the front and maybe even upgrade your sway bars f & r. your traction will improve if you go this rought.

is your suspension done yet? i would just keep the rims but dump the tires.. i had Nitto NT 450 and they sucked ...it wouldnt take much for them to loss traction, in the rain they were pretty scary, and you could do a peel out w/o even trying... try getting better tires... if there was sand or the road was wet these things were all over the place

hey guys thnx for the info, i like my k1s alot, i get alot of q's about them and compliments about them, i was just wondering if a wider tire was available, but i guess i will stick with these, as for my suspension i say it would be pretty good, i have eibach groundcontrol coilovers, with tockico shocks and struts, and no sway bars, so i will be getting a rear sway bar soon, and have the stock gsr bar up front, most people like my suspension set up, not to hard not to soft, good quality ride. thx for your guys help !

go for the oem itr rear sway bar...

back to the subject at hand.. anything wider than a 205 on that wheel (most wheels with the right offset) will rub. 18's usually have an offset designed for a 215 tire.

um your tires are kinda thin. On stock wheels (15in) the thinnest id go is 50.

cool thx, but y the oem itr bar? y not like a neuspeed or something else? r the factory itr stuff that great? i heard neuspeed were pretty good like the 22mm were one of the best?
oh and i got nitto 450s cuz of low money flow, before i had yokohama avs tires, they were 200bux each, and really grippy(is that a word?) so when i get some more cash i will buy some of those tires. r there n e other really good tires like the avs? money will not be a problem next time, i am getting serous about auto-x and drags. give me some other brands of tires to get, thx

The oem ITR sway bar is 21mm or is it 22mm. Anyway, it's as good if not better than the Neuspeed. Whatever you do, get a larger sway bar in the rear. The car will handle a lot better.

yok AVS arent really the racer's choice tires. Most prefer the Falken Azenis. Not only are they cheaper but they probably perform just as well if not better than the Yok's. If money isn't an issue, you can try out the Bridgestone Potenza S03's.

So I got my K-1's installed, drop shipped from Tirerack.com to a local shop, all in all a great process. But my K-1's didn't appear to come with a hub center piece. So I can see through the hole in the middle of the wheel to the hub, which of course is all rusted and nasty looking.
Knighteg, is this how your wheels look or did they come with some sort of cover.
I'm going to call Tirerack tomorrow and see what the deal is but I wouldn't think they should look like they do.
Other than that I'm pretty happy with them so far. I'll update after I've had a chance to really try them out.

Do a search... not to sound like an ***, but you will hear A LOT of opinions on this subject. You've heard mine, so I won't repeat it.

I called Tirerack back today and talked to a new person who sold me a set of four of the hub center pieces, I should have them by the weekend and I'll try to post a pic of how they look with the center vs without. I think it was like $40 for them including shipping. I ordered my wheels off the web and it never mentions anything about the covers and I'm not sure you could even find them on their site if you looked real hard.
Oh well the things you lose when you don't talk to a real person...
