I am lookin into getting a 88 crx and Was told by a buddy that the suspension is different then that of the 89-91 crx.... is this true? and if so what is different with them?

 

Yes, the rear strust/LCAs are different.

 

do you know what exactly is different.. i've been doin research.. and what i'm thinking is the lower mount is a "eye" mounting hole... while the 89 -91 has "fork" style...

is this correct?

#21 is from an 88, #22 is from the 89-91.

 

ok... now... if i wanted to upgrade to a 89-91 rear suspension... how would this be accomplished???

Get 89-91 LCAs, and 89-91 struts.

No problem! I did the same swap!

 

only thing different in the 88-89 civic/crx is the shock mount its a eye ball mount in the 90-91 its a fork shaped its not to hard to swap out

Tyson posted some pix's showing the different locations of the toe link, but I couldn't find that post. There's a little more to the 88 thing than different shocks and lower control arms!
