Default b16a2 help needed!

ok, so i've been reading all these posts tryin to learn more about swappin b16's, and it seems like wiring seems to be the big issue. i got a 96 Civic EX, and i just pushed the limits on my d series, and it blew, so i'm lookin for the upgrade to the b16a2. the engine before wasn't vtec so i know right off, not everything is gonna match up nice and easy as far as wiring goes. if someone could tell me before hand the new parts i know i'm gonna need to do this, it would save me alot of time b/c i need the car desperately right now. if anyone relatively close to WV has an a2 setup they're tryin to sell, or know someone who is, let me know ASAP. e-mail is dude2004@charer.net, i need all the help and advice i can get!

you need a B series trans. you say you car is an ex which means it should have the vtec switch and vtec oil pressure swith wired you already. you would just have to a run a knock sensor if you run the same year ECU for the b16A2. you need to buy all the motor mounts for a 99 Si . include the REAR MOUNT. BOTH SIDE MOUNTS and if you want them the TORQUE MOUNTS those are the ones that bolt in front of the trans and engine block. one other tip you decide to run a obo1 ecu like a P28 chipped to runa b series you will not have to run knock sensor because who ever programs the ecu can turn the knock off.

A B16a2 needs a P2t ecu. A GSR ecu will work, but not as well. The P72 will look for secondaries and the fuel map is different. I used to have one, but now I have P30 (B16a), and I can definitely tell a difference.

for my dx I ran it on my b16a2 no problems... I didnt notice it running rich/lean the secondaries are in the intake manifold... you think secondaries really matter whens a person swaps out there GSR Intake manifold for a skunk2 intake manifold... what will the ecu look for then

I never said that you would have problems. Mine ran fine when I had a P72, but I threw 4 codes and the vtec didn't kick in at the right time. Besides, if you get an intake manifold for the GSR, it will still have secondaries. The ITR mani and Si mani are the ones that are similar. And yes, I do have a Skunk2 IM for my car. If you ask anyone one here that knows what they are talking about, they will tell you that a P72 won't work as well as a P30 (for a B16a) or a Pt2 (for an a2).

what are you talking about?!?!?! what codes did you throw??? when you say vtec didnt kick in at the right time means that secondaries on the gsr open up at 4400 ... I dont think you know what your talking about
