Default D16Y8 ... What Type of Trans?

I am looking for a Transmisson for my D16Y8. I guess the question is, will any D16 Transmisson work with this motor, or do I need a D16Y8 Trans. It is a manual transmission. Are there anyother transmissions that will work with this motor?

Preferably a Local where i can Avoid shipping and pick up.

ANY D SERIES TRANNY from the same model year will work asuming your D16Y8 is in a car from 96 to 00. you just sacrivice gear ratios if get a hx or vx trans. DX and EX are almost identical to the one you have in your car curently

The EX tranny has the shortest gears. If you want a rebuilt one with a warranty check this out. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1085206

My recomendations are

D16Y8 or D16Z6

D16Y7 will work too but the gears are longer.

Yup, the D series trannys will for on any d series(d15b, d16z6, d16y8, d16y7), same with B series tranny's on any B series(b20z,b18c,b16), H series etc..

yea, the z6 tranny is EG si tranny and the y8 is the newer Ek one. I believe the z6 3rd gear is like a hair longer then the y8.
