Default crx engines

hey i had a question i don't know as much as i would like to about my car so i am trying to learn some things because i am rebuilding my 88 crx and i am having a problem....
alright i wrecked my 88 crx and i am going to put my engine in a 89 crx si. someone told me that there is a possiblity that the engine may be too small and/or the wiring harness may not be the same...
can anyone help me????

sounds like you may have 88 HF - that sound right? the HF engine will bolt into the Si, however, the HF engine does not have much power and in the heavier Si car, it will be a little slow - the 88 HF wiring harness is different from the 89 Si - best to use the Si harness on the HF engine, but you will have to add wiring for the EGR valve

a stock HF has a D15B6 engine 1.5 liter - a stock Si has a D16A6 1.6 liter

ok so wat ur saying is that u have a 88 HF (wrecked) and u got a 89 SI (shell)....and u want to put the 88 motor into the 89 shell...rite?? u'll have to change over alot of things...complete motor/tranny/harness, ecu, dash harness, complete exhuast system(cuz the HF cat is on the header), interior wiring(i think)
