Ignition Timing?

Default Ignition Timing?

the stock timing is or should be what? next
what would be a safe amount to increase it to if still stock, i heard 18


is that true?

stock timing is 16d +/-2d, so 18d is still within the stock specs. I have mine set to 18d and have had no ill effects from doing so. low and midrange seems to be a bit stronger and gas mileage is supposed to improve, but that's a hard one to confirm. just make sure you use a timing light to set it.

correct, stock is 16 deg. +/- 2 degrees. just a little hint though, when i dynoed i made most power at 16 degrees. i tried 19,18,17 and 15, but it liked 16 the best.

hmmm, that's intereseting. I'd like to see the dyno plots, if you have them. I only us the ol' butt dyno and advanced to 18 seems to yield the best feeling lower power. how did the torque readings differ with each reading?
