first thing, learn to drive stick if you haven't already.

then slam that **** on its nuts. 15 years old, im guessing you dont have a lot of money. start with the suspension first.

Start reading. Here, Magazines, and anywhere else you can think of.
I leared a ton of stuff from magazines (before HT).
There is alot of info on this board. If you have a question about something use the search button thats in the upper right hand corner. You will find lots of info there.

i'd be weary of wrong information...
the roadracing/autox section has a good amount of knowledgeable people

but yeah, an old honduh would be fun at your age to play around with.
plan for the car?

lefty loosey righty tighty. you gotta be some what mechanicaly inclined to work on a car. but dont get me wrong hondas are so simple its not funny. if your scared to work on it chance are youll mess something up. but the best way to learn is by doing it your self.

what i would do, is really easy, you know how to drive stick, your 15 (do you have a DL? most states i hear you can get a license when you turn 16 but i donno.)

Find a Rex you like, test drive it, make sure its in good working order, and ask a hell of alot of questions when your buy the rex off some one. what, when, were, why, whom? the 5 W's lol

Next go to your automotive parts store and buy a Chiltons or Haynes book on your Make & model(CRX ofcourse), and read, best $20 bucks you will EVER spend.

word. chiltons book kicks ***. step by step. from doing brakes to overhauling an engine, everything is in there.

you'll learn a lot man. i was probably in the same boat that you're in when i first started getting into cars and all.

get a job if you dont already have one. fixing up a car aint cheap!

your going to make mistakes when you are learning but the key is to not make the same mistake twice. if you aren't sure ask questions know matter how dumb you think they are. take your time and not to rush .

yea double werd on that,

1. Safety always no matter what

Since your only 15 it looks like you will only be able to maintain the car in good shape, till you get a good paying gig, well we dont know that, unless your filthy rich.....lol

This is true. if i knew of hondatech before i did my engine swap it would of been done in half the time and half the cost. thats besides the point though. Read, research, and learn from experience. and enjoy your crx!!!

i'd say, start with changing a tire...lol i know that sounds retarted but if you start with changing a tire, you understand the jack adn jack stands adn where and where not to place them. safety should come first and that's what the younger kids need to learn. (not saying i'm old...but older).

then after that, learn how to change the oil and oil filter. spark plugs, spark plug wires. learn how to check your dizzy (distributor) cap and rotor.

basically you live and learn adn right now, at 15 you need to... have fun adn good luck!

and if you know a mechanic that lives near you, make friends with him, or her, and just start hangin out with them when they're workin on their cars, and ask questions and pay attention. i learned a lot that way, and it always pays to have a friend that knows more than you do so you're always learning. good luck

First thing you need to learn is the location of the gas station with the cheapest price! woot.

for starters...
tire inflation
being able to check ALL fluids
check/replace air filter, cap & rotor, spark plugs (gap?), spark plug wires (don't get them mixed up at the distributor cap!!!),
oil change (don't strip out the drain plug!!!)
learn how to jack up your car and change a flat tire (you do NOT want to screw this up!)
installing a stereo is a good way to learn a bit of wiring

anyway, good luck with your car, man, and always wear a seatbelt.

cars are great to get into it keeps alot of people out of real trouble.ive liked messing with them but i chose the wrong first car and was satisfied with it. i notised that if you get a car thats not perfect and you want to change something like make it faster or what ever then one thing leads to another and you end up learning alot and having fun.thats the key. you will mess up and get mad but dont get to mad. walk away for a minitue calm down and go back to it clear headed and you might see something new.rember two heads are better than one, so have your frinds help if they are intrested.even if they dont know **** they could look at something and see it different.but it helps to have someone who knows alot and wont charge you or aleast not alot.start small like instead of the usual i just got a honda what motor swaps can i do,get an intake or something.or better yet find out all mods you gan do for free or dirt cheap and do them. its okay to be in the gutter mods for a while just dont **** your car up too bad.and deffinetly get the chiltons manual that should be one of the first things you get.
