Will a coil fire off if it cant read the piston one sensor?

 

I have seen distributors that had bad tdc sensors inside them, and the car still ran. So that should answer your question.

 

ok just checking cause my car was throwing that code and then after i replaced the batter none of the gauge cluster works now checked all the fuses but nothing. none of the lights come on when i put the ignition in position two exept for the battery light

 

Sure you hooked eveything back up ?

 

yeah the car ran fine and everything for like a week then i started to get no spark

So why did you replace the battery, sounds like a distributor problem.

 

it wasnt holding charge any more but after i put the new one in the cluster problem came up then the dizzy but it was throwing the tdc code before it stopped running

 

So did you change the distributor ?

 

not yet but my biggest concern is the dash.

 

i would swap in a known good distributer, check all grounds, and double check the battery is hooked up all good! never hurts to take a part and put back together.
