Default Gears are acting up!!!

For the past couple of days its been really rough going from gear to gear. Its not that its grinding but its just not a smooth transaction like its been before? what could cause this!!!

Also my reverse gear grinds a little now. I have been told that hondas do that some times and that u have to run through that gears before u put it in reverse. This worked for a while but now its starting to make a very small grinding noise when i put it in. What could be causing this??

any help would be great!!!

Take your traynny apart....check the synchros and sleeves..........

For the reverse.......check the gears - and idler gear.

Usually we experience 5th gear grinds.......not reverse.........

Taking a tranny out takes patience.........
You definately need a lift........get access to one

Its all bolts and ****..........take them out........once again - it takes patience........

It might take a few days for a first timer.......

once you have the tranny out.......post up pics and we'll go from there.

If you don't know anything about trannys - please don't mess up your car. You can easily mess up a tranny if you don't know what you're doing. I say take it to the local shop, and ask if you can watch/help them while working on it. Thats the best way to learn IMO.

Or you could just need a new clutch.. A bad pressure plate will cause the problems your described

Yep.

Also
The springs on the clutch disk could be worn.....causing chatter. When engaging and disengaging..........i totally agree.

OR
You could have some kind of oil or something on the clutch surface.......causing chatter again...........

Start small - changing the clutch and pressure plate - and then work your way to other things if that doesn't help.

changing a clutch and pressure plate is not small....

try checking the clutch fluid and bleeding it to make sure its fully disengaging....

pulling the housing off your tranny is not an easy task....
