a sad night for me....
basically a 4 door lancer with 6 people pulled out in front of me tonight, and well, I no longer have my accord. the worse part is that the 6 people in that car lied to the police and said that my blinker was on (even though I was not in the turn lane). so of course it's my fault. *******.
That freaking sucks. I hate stupid ***|<*rs like that. = (

Tough break, but I wouldn't lie down for this just yet. I'd get ahold of your insurance company and go over the particulars after you pick up a copy of the police report.
If you can lay it out that you were proceeding straight (in the travel lane) through an uncontrolled intersection and the other vehicle pulled out in front of you, they will be at fault by not yielding to oncoming traffic. If they had a stop sign and you didn't, again it would be failure to yield.
It could be worth the call (or sit-down), otherwise you're out of a car, you've now got a mark on your license as well as in your insurance history

If your tires made any skid marks I bet that could prove what lane you were in. And I don't know about where you live, but in Texas where I grew up, if you contest the charges, I think the cops have to do an investigation.
Wow, that is some ghetto stuff. :/
But I agree with the others that you shouldn't give up just yet; definetely bring that up with your insurance company and hopefully that can get something setup for you so you don't end up losing your car and getting jacked by those idiots.

thanks for the support you guys...this is why i love this forum. the police seemed like they were semi on my side, but who knows. there were tire marks so its prove i was in the right lane. its just aggrevating when its me versus six people. ill get the police report tuesday. i'm going to go talk to the insurance company tomorrow morn
when i said "so of course it's my fault" i was being sarcastic!

Good to hear.
Keep your head up, you'll get through this. By the way, you say that there were six people in the Lancer. Isn't it illegal to carry more than the alloted passengers a car is said to carry? I'm pretty sure Lancers seat five. Or maybe that's just a California thing. :/

In other words... tickets don't mean ****. OK, they carry a little weight, but the insurance company will do their own investigation and be sure to be talking with your agent (or claims department), make it clear that you were not in a turn lane and didn't have your blinker on. This is far from over.
To make a long story short... in '94 I was the back car in a 4-car collision (caused by the third car). She got the ticket but I was still responsible for the back corner of her car that I had tagged (not too bad, ~ $2,300 worth of damage between her car and mine).
Anyway, you can pick up a 6th generation Accord pretty reasonably, look for '98s or '99s with 5-speed (the automatics in those years had some problems, plus automatics suck). You've been in 6th generation Accords, right? A lot roomier than the 5th generation. Were you carrying liability on your Accord?

the officer commented that they were packed in like sardines. i do have liability at least. between work and living expenses, full coverage was out of my league. never been in a 6th gen...i just loved my 5th.
