I am hoping to pick up a d16y8 swap but I am not sure if I should get the dizzy from the motor (obd2a) or if I should use my d16z6 dizzy.
I thought i heard of the z6 head and y8 head mounting points being different could be wrong thought thats why I'm asking.
Help ASAP please. Hoping to get motor tonight or tomorrow.

with using the y8 head you can use your stock distributor if you are keeping it obd0. but yes the mounting holes are different between the y8 and z6 heads. so if you want to go obd1 there might be some problems. i don't know for sure though.

so ur OBD-1....if u want to stay obd1 just use ur z6 dizzy. u have to modify the dizzy brackets. if u had obd0, it would be easier....ur d16a6 dizzy bolts right into the y8 head....
i got the z6 motor and i had to modify the brackets on the a6 dizzy...i'm still obd0.

No.
Use the OBD-II D16Y8 distributor for the OBD-I conversion. It works. It is internally the same as an OBD-I distributor.

Not sure if the plug is different or not. But if it is different, go to rywire.com and order a 0bd-2a to obd0 distributor harness, its like 25 bux.
EDIT: I meant to say obd-0 to obd 2a
