Default Stupid grounding question.

I actualy did search and didnt come up with what i was looking for. I am going to make a ground wire kit this weekend (mine are all corroded) My question is this should I keep the stock grounds in and just add wires too it or can i just rip the old ones out and use the same location for some thicker gauge audio wire? I would rather just take the old ones out and replace them but is that going to help me or what?

If the stock ones are in bad shape, remove them, and as long as you are replacing them with "bigger" cable it will be an improvement.
That said, it they are not damaged, then remove them , clean them up, reinstall them, and add the extra ones right along side the stock ones
Hint.... a box of baking soda and water in a pan and a good stiff brush will make them look new again. 94

so if i add some more its better than if I just replace them? I would rather not have that many wires in my engine bay.

The idea is to add currant capacity, that can be done be adding to or changing completely, both will work just as well as long as you end up with a ground that will carry the same currant, or at least the max current that it needs to carry. 94

The current will always take the path of least resistance, so by adding the new wire alongside the old you're just giving it another option.
