OMG!!!! The Mugen Whale *****
Yesterday there was a lapping day at Pacific Raceways in Kent, Washington. I cruised down there to meet up with some friends that were tracking and to meet up with White Rocket (Chris).
Long story short, there were four or five Type-R's on hand and since I JUST recently sold my turbo kit, I asked the fellow R owners if they happened to have any N/A parts for sale.
Luck have it be that one of the A&J team drivers had a Mugen Intake system for sale that he'd only used for three months. Sweet.
"so....how much you asking for your intake?" I said in a collective voice.
"I'll take 500 Canadian for it." He says. I say "Chris, what that's like $200 US
, get in your car...we're going to get it right now."
So we take off, driving two deep all the way up I-5 into the land of beavers, canuck's, and igloo's. Unfortunately since we left the track in post-haste fashion I didn't get as much contact information as I should have.
We didn't make it to A&J in time last night and I pretty much sat around the computer all day long, waiting for the owner to send me an email. Ten minutes before A&J closes, we hop in Chris' mint 99' R and rip on down there.
Luck have it be, the owner of the intake has his car in the shop getting worked on. $500.00 Canadian later ($437.00 U.S.) I'm in possesion of the coveted Mugen whale ***** and on my way to N/A!
