gettin rid of injector resistor box
i wanna get rid of the injector resistor box in my hf and put on obd 1 injectors.. what do i do with the wires? sodder all them together? there are 4 red with black stripes and one yellow one.. can anyone tell me which wires do i sodder together? thanks
yup should be 5 wires. and most would recomend to change out your obd0 injector plugs for obd1 plugs cause they are different. but you can cram the obd0 plug on the obd1 injector. thats what i did no problems.
Go to http://www.Rywire.com thay will tell you exactly what to do, when converting a harness. Good Luck

Why in the world would you buy a harness to get rid of your resistor box?
I removed my resistor box two nights ago, took me 10 minutes. I unsoldered everything and then resoldered each individual wire back into the distribution block.
I guess it would work to just solder them all together in a clump, but I wouldn't do that on my car. I would rather solder the individual wires like it came stock.

Haha. I'm the same way. I can figure all sorts of **** out. But when it comes to wiring and soldering I just get stupid.

Are you doing this for a swap or something? Because technically you know you're downgrading, right? Your peak and hold injectors respond faster so they're better suited for extreme RPM, but they cost more so Honda went to the saturated injectors everyone else uses.
Not that it makes a huge difference.
Honda injectors are better than other manufacturers anyway since they still function at very high duty cycles. That's why I just laugh at the people that get DSM or some other injectors.

there was a tutorial on here some where, i forgot to bookmark it.....yea mee too i am about to do that to, but i just get stupid when it comes to wires and having all this crud sticking out....its like its making fun of me....lmao, ill try to find and get the link posted......brb

I thought this thread was just about removing a resistor box?
obd0-obd1 conversion is a whole nother story. There are already tons of writeups where they walk you through that conversion.
Removing a resistor box is as easy as disconnecting the box and resoldering 4 wires. But the conversion to obd1 requires wiring in a 4-wire o2 sensor among other things.

right, i know that, but some peoples way of doing things are so freaking diffrent,
technichly, if you remove the res. box, will require you to run OBD1 injectors as well as injector plugs. Thats easy to do is pinning them out anb repinning them with the obd1 plugs.
The main question, is "Do the 5 wires get soldered together, or splice them and twistem and seal them off with electrical tape? Im most certain theres a how to for this, not the rywire method but i saw one with pics done, i just cant find the dang link.....if some one finds it sooner please post thanks....

ok you take off your resistor box the one 10mm bolt unplug it. cut the plug off the resistor box leave plenty of wire on the plug side. throw away your reisitor box. strip back all 5 wires and saulder them all together. wrap with electrical tape. then either depin your obd0 injector plugs and repin some obd1 plugs. or just jam the obd0 plugs on to the obd1 injectors. your done. if your converting the whole motor to obd1 theres more work to be done.
