is there a speed governor on a 1994 honda accord

 

As far as i know on some there is on some there isnt, i guess u just have to test it out and see

 

There was a thread through here recently whereas it was stated that speed governors were first included in the 1996 model year. This I HAVE NOT verified, and is subject to verification. (someone was complaining about not being able to go over 120mph)
Honda has been incorporating rpm limiters for quite some time as a 'don't blow up your engine' safety valve.

I think the limiters are in everything but ex/se models. 4th gens have them set at 115mph. I don't know why you would really need to go that fast anyways. Probably takes forever to get up there.

My 97 LX is the same

 

92 LX cuts out 180kmh=115mph?

Not on my 97 EX, and not on my buddy's 94 EX.

 

Mine goes to about 125mph.....doesnt go any faster from there.....engine doesnt cut out either.....

 

I don't have any speed governor on my '96 Accord EX. I've hit 135 on the freeway with all stock.

 

o have a 95 lx i never driven it over 110 havnt gotten that high but at a certain point like around 105 or so i cant seem 2 go any faster the engine dosnt shut off or anything but anyway how can i remove this limiter? will it be a problem once i put in turbo?

 

These cars barely go that fast you guys must either have some serious mods or a mile or so of straight aways. I haven't seen if mine can go over 125mph so I don't know.

 

my 1994 lx coupe can reach 125+ as I have seen the speedo go past 125 but I didn't want to get pulled over in WI so I slowed down.

 

90 Accord LX = aerodynamic wall at 120ish, no noticeable limiter.

99 Accord LX = limiter at 142mph, no noticeable aerodynamic wall.
