Default Alpine Remote Turn On - Went Dead

Well, I have been trying to trace this little demon for a while..

took my sub out to run at the track, put it back in and no sound.. great.

Bought a new amp b/c the amp came on, just had protection fault, you know the deal..

So I got a used Xtant 404m.. got it in, well it turned on, but no sound.. alright, now what.. finally found my main fuse was bad, not blown, but loose on one of the endcaps..

So I replaced that, now that remote lead is not getting a signal from the damn HU!

I checked for voltage at the back of the headunit(Alpine 9815), no go, so how do i fix this ****?

Anyone ever ripped it open before and fixed it? I can do it, just don't know what to look for exactly..

BTW, I hooked a 12v source to the remote on the amp, and it fired up and played fine..

If the remote wire "shorted out" when you had the amp disconnected, it more then it's more then likely a diode, if you are comfortable pulling the HU apart, its not hard to fallow the circuit back to the diode, when they go because of a short, they "go boom" and are not hard to see, I have replaced more then a few on Alpine and other HUs for the same reason, [shorted out]. 94
