Default K20Z3

im waiting on the new release of the civic si, the motor is a k20z3 it's like the jdm accord euro r. when i get it im looking forward to building an all motor beast. i dont know much about the k-series so i was wondering what should i do and what parts to go with(name brand). thanks in advance.

wow...um yea, Stick to a k20a2. Cheap if your a good shopper, easy to find, and doesnt use drive by wire.

well the k20z3 comes stock in the 2006 si and also why stay away from the drive by wire?

that new k20z3 its bad from what i read. it has 197 hp stock it comes with 11:1 compression, lsd, 3 rocker ivtec powerband, and balanced shafts.

i believe that all vtec motors have the 3 rocker arms, and i belive all k-series have the balance shafts.....just that the z3 they were designed better. everything you just spoke of the k20a2 has, except the lsd.

From the honda brochure it also has Light weight Pistons. I wonder if they are any different than the k20a2. Regardless the engine seems nice. However, the car is weighing in at 2877Lbs! One heavy bitch that is ~40lbs heavier than the RSX type-S but it is about 4k cheaper! They should be selling for around $19800. That is only ~1k more than the EX model.

what will "Acura" do to compete with the SI is the question.........what lies next for the RSX?

i dont think there is any competing to do...the rsx-s can still beat the si...lsd dont matter much, the transmission has the same gearing if i read the article correct.

Rumors in the new Sport Compact have it saying Acura is going to be releasing the RSX Type R towards the end of 2006. Coming with 225hp...it's in the rumor section of SCC

who the hell knows, the SI wont even be released till december. how would anyone know anything about this motor?

i can guarantee the k20a2 has WAYYYY more potential than you will ever need..

no the SI tranny has shorter gear ratios the the rsx and a taller 6th gear meant for highway
