Default Best Rotor/Pad setup

I have a 93 VTEC and need to get new rotors for the front.

I had some drilled and slotted rotors that were just Brembo blanks and were drilled by a company, in which they sell. Bad idea...i know! i bought these a probably 2-3 years ago. and now they are warped pretty bad.

so which should i buy?
Brembo blanks

have you had any experience with:
neuspeed
power stop
rotora
etc.

which pads are you using? if semi-metallic...were the metal threads small and same size or different size threads/big

here is a link to some helpful advice:
http://www.brakewarehouse.com/...top33

Thanks in advance

i assume this car is street use? just go with some cheap autozone blanks and some good pads. rotors warp so easy on these cars that it's pointless to buy expensive ones. also, the difference in performance between these rotors is minimal.

I'm wondering the same? I'm looking to replace my rotors and pads on my 97 lude, does anyone know of a reputable brand? Also, what about the pads? Thanks!

I have had Autozone rotors on my car for a few years now. They have lasted thru bunches of Auto-x's and general agressive driving.

I will be getting a new set of Pads here this winter and they WILL be a set of Hawk Hp+ from tirerack.

My recomendation for any street driven honda..

Autozone rotors (with lifetime warrenty)
Axis ultimate Pads front and rear - yes, they dust, but general rule of thumb is the more they dust, the better they are. Dust is noncorrosive and wipes off easily.
http://www.cobaltfriction.com is a good source them from, I believe they give honda-tech members 10% off.

I have Napa blanks front and rear, with napa pads as well. no problems at all, but i don't track my car. So for daily driving they are perfect.

these are the pads i have. i also recommend them. i got them on ebay for very cheap. they do dust like a crazy (have to wipe down wheels once a week), but i'd never go back to stock pads.

chances are, your rotors are not warped, one of the biggest ways to make it seem like your rotors are warped is to keep your foot on the brake after hard stopping, ie whenever you come to a red light, best thing to do is put on the ebrake and take your foot off of the brake, when u keep your foot on the brake it melts on crap to the rotor from all of the heat of stopping...

actually i'm not heavy on the brakes, and don't ride my brakes at lights etc...but interesting theory...

like i mentioned these were brembo blanks that were converted into drilled and slotted rotors like a lot of companies do. however, i think the holes were made to large and too abundant and caused the rotors to lose it's structural integrity(btw...the company for the rotors was KRP-i think this is a local company and i got them almost 4 years ago)...they've actually lasted a long time but i always had minor shimmy probs with these after 7-8k miles and just lived with it-even after i resurfaced(only lasted another 6k?!?!) i also ran aem pads...not impressed they didn't last that long...less than 2 years-maybe 15-20k miles, they got squeaky toward the end so i replaced them with oem pads after resurfacing.

i have heard good things about hawk, axxis, and endless pads...but i heard hawk and endless really bite into the rotors.
i would like to hear about the NEUSPEED rotors...expensive...retail: $140 each front / $75-80 each rear...this is for either drilled or slotted.

as for the the integra type-r and s2000 OEM pads...how good are they compared to other "high-performance" pads...hawk, axxis, etc.? i know the type-r pads will fit...but do u have the s2000 pads on the rear, or just heard? cuz...

most (aftermarket) FRONT pads fit on:
1997-01 Integra Type R
1991-96 NSX
1997 3.0 CL
1998-2002 Accord V6 All
1995-97 Accord V6 Sedan & Wagon
1997-2001 CRV
1992-96 Prelude VTEC
1997-2001 Prelude All

REAR:
1997 Integra Type R
1997 2.2 CL
1997 3.0 CL
1998-99 2.3 CL
1992 Accord Coupe EX
1993-2002 Accord Coupe 4 cyl.
1998-2002 Accord Coupe 6 cyl.
1990-2002 Accord Sedan - all with disc brake rear
1992-96 Prelude - all

I dunno I have slotted/cross-drilled rotors on my 95, and I absolutely love them. In fact, most people that drive my car describe them as "insane." I think the main reason you get slotted rotors is because they look cool. And they aren't necessarily bad; you just don't buy blanks that have been drilled. You buy ones that are made like that, like the ones they sell on tirerack.com. Also, use brake pads that don't have the ridge in the center to dissipate gases. That's why the rotor is drilled, so having a hole in your brake pad is just less contact area for your brakes.

I have Axis Ultimate pads front and rear, with stainless steel brake lines. By far the lines are the most noticeable difference that I made to my car's braking ability. Much firmer, better modulation and control with them. ~125 bucks or so.

Moral of the story: buy blanks with good pads, or buy GOOD slotted rotors with pads made for them, and either way get some stainless lines.

I have brembo drilled rotors and AEM pads ... AEM are godddd aweful. They do not grip the rotor AT ALL! Try aXXis ultimate on brembo rotors .. or brembo pads .. you'll have to contact a distr. for their pads b/c most website don't list them .. but they do exist and prob best for their rotors. I think AEM pads are for lite daily drivers with oe rotors?
