tach and rpm switch question
Im about to wire in an rpm switch and wanted to get some opinions. Is it better to tap the signal wire off the distributer, ecu or cluster?
I'd rather tap into it under the hood so I dont have to mess with the wiring harness but I'm not sure wich wire. Any help would be great.

I found an msd 8950 on ebay for $30 so I snagged it. The summit one is out of stock/backordered. Only downside of the msd is that you have to find a new pill to put in it to change the rpm engagement point.
They both ground a circuit out at a certain rpm so you need a relay to make the +12v connection to the solenoid. If I had the money I would go obd1.

yeah, im just looking to make a shift light using stock dash indicators.
yeah, i noticed the summit one is backordered til 10/7.
im just waiting for a decent used deal anyway.
