Default Anyone recomend the oem mud flaps for a Type R?

Just curious if they are really needed to prevent scratches and rock chips etc...
I have them and am depating whether to put them on or not. They are brand new oem flaps. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks

If you live somewhere that gets a lot of rain then i recommend them, as they do keep the spray of the side of the car in wet weather, also i think the ITR looks bare without them.

I think the car looks cleaner without them. Of course, you do then have tire spray on the side of the car, but meh.

Oh, and I've seen people scrape them on track, especially at Lowe's

Agree'd But I've also had a Teg without and I gotta admit that they completely save the rear end from scrapes and crap and tar buildup and whatnot,,, lotsa whatnot.

I use them as bump feelers.

I'd actually much rather have the mud flaps beat to **** than my header. I can hear a nifty scrape that warns me when there's almost no space left and bottoming out impending doom is near.

I took mine off, cause the car looks a lot better without them, and as long as you wash your car, you have to clean the tire spray anyway.

Most definately, I have them on the rear which helps alot. I would put them on the front but my car is too low. I put them on because I was chipping the hell out of my paint.

I use them to minimize crap getting on the side. I find a lot of stuff likes to get on the doors lower skirts areas that I can only get off with a clay bar later. Also dont like the black rubber streaks that I get from other people's rubber at the track, helps to keep that down, especially when using lower offset wheels.

What black rubber streaks are you talking about?

I seem to pick up a LOT more of these than I used to... is it because more people in Advanced use R comps, or because I follow a lot closer when I'm trying to get around someone? Dunno.

I didnt have mine fitted last summer and noticed a lot more tar on the sides of the car without them. I put them on before last winter and this year (which was hotter than last year) there is very very little tar spots on the side of the car. Mine do rub on speed bumps, but only the fronts and theyre plastic so it'll do them no harm.

By the time you hit the mudflaps isnt your header already toast?
